Appleton Farms Dinner and Lecture

The Trustees of Reservations is meeting the growing demand for locally sourced, grass-fed beef by expanding their White Park beef herd at Appleton Farms to be able to offer a wider selection of beef that includes choice cuts of grass-fed steaks and roasts, which will be available for purchase in their on-site Dairy and Farm Store starting October 24 (National Food Day).

To celebrate their newly expanded beef offerings and teach more people about the importance of sustainable food production, they are also holding a Seasonal Farm Dinner and Lecture at Appleton Farms on October 24. Patrick Martins, author of The Carnivore’s Manifesto: Eating Well, Eating Responsibly, and Eating Meat, as well as the founder of Heritage Foods USA, Slow Food USA, and Heritage Radio Network will share his wealth of knowledge on the subject.

Martins is known as an agent of change within the farm and food industry. He will share practical advice on how to make informed choices about the food we eat and where it comes from. The evening will begin with a sampling of Appleton’s own artisanal cheeses and locally made apple cider, followed by Martin’s talk, a Q&A session, and a full buffet-style farm meal featuring Appleton’s grass-fed beef by Bonne Bouche catering of Wenham. Dessert, coffee, and a book signing will follow the dinner. Locally crafted beers and wines will available at a cash bar. Trustees staff will be on hand throughout the evening to speak about how the organization supports sustainable, local farming and meat production through their agriculture program. 

The aim of the event is our event to engage more people in learning more about the health and environmental benefits of eating locally raised, heritage, grass-fed beef.

The event will be held in the Appleton Farms Carriage Barn on October 24 from 5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Cost is $60 (Trustees members); $75 (nonmembers) For more information, visit
