Last week, McGrupp’s Doggie Daycare in Middleton teamed up with 13-year-old Middleton local Molly Wogan for a P.A.W.S. (Precious Animals, Wonderful Shelters) fundraiser to benefit some of the animal shelters Wogan has been working with as part of her Bat Mitzvah community service.

The combination fundraiser and food drive took place on March 21-22 at McGrupp’s on Rundlett Way in Middleton, during which customers had their pets’ pictures taken in a spring-themed photo booth in exchange for donating a bag of dog food. Over the course of two days, McGrupp’s collected over 500 pounds of food, which will be sent down to E.A.R.L.’S Hope Rescue in Georgia, where Wogan will be spending her April school vacation volunteering.

Wogan has devoted an entire year to this volunteer project, helping animal shelters and shelter dogs as part of her Bat Mitzvah community service. Her P.A.W.S. project has a goal of helping 13 shelters in New England and 180 dogs. In addition to volunteering at the shelters, Wogan also sells custom key chains, homemade dog treats, and homemade paw print shaped lollipops at local events to raise money for the shelters.
