A Taste of Derby Street

Were there foodies in 17th-century Salem? Discover little-known facts about food and diet in the early Salem settlements at The Gables on June 3.


A special tour of Derby Street and beyond with Salem Food Tours starts off with a 17th-century food demonstration at The House of the Seven Gables. From The Gables, at 115 Derby Street in Salem, the tour moves on to sample food and beverages from among the finest establishments in Salem.

The tour starts at The Gables at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, and concludes at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 and the proceeds will benefit preservation and education programs at The House of the Seven Gables.
