Fitzgerald recently had a watercolor accepted in the North East Watercolor Society’s International juried exhibition, 2016.  She won a “Juror’s Choice” award for a submission to the Arlington Center for the Arts juried All Watercolor Show, 2015.  Karen is currently studying under Carolyn Latanision, NWS.  Hillary Scott, oil painter, recently had a showing of her work displayed at Newburyport’s Firehouse Gallery, Market St., and is represented by Renjeau’s Gallery of Natick and Valerie’s of Newburyport.  Hillary received an ”Outstanding Work” award for a piece in the juried Marblehead Festival of Arts, 2015 and an “Honorable Mention” 2016 at the Greater Haverhill Artist Association’s annual show.   Both artists have sold internationally.  Karen and Hillary taught art together for a short time at Methuen High School and became friends. Mentored by Karen Blackwood, Newburyport, similarities can be seen in their approaches.   They are members of the Newburyport Art Association.  This exhibit focuses on how each artist uses their respective medium to see the local landscape and the world around them.

The show will take place September 20-25 in the Hill’s Gallery, Newburyport Art Association, 65 Water St., Newburyport, Ma.
