What better day to devour a burger than on National Cheeseburger Day? If you’re looking “must try” cheeseburgers in and around the North Shore of Boston, we suggest trying one of these mouthwatering creations worth devouring on September 18th.

A & B Burgers (Beverly) – Wagyu Burger

If you are looking for the best burger on the Eastern seaboard, call ahead to make sure this Beverly burger joint has its Wagyu beef in stock—it is so good that it sells out quickly. Their regular grass-fed, hand-formed burgers are incredibly delicious, too, but the Wagyu beef (which costs a few extra bucks) is out of this world—juicy, tender, flavorful—it doesn’t even need a dash of salt or the A&B special sauce. The décor—a funky mix of garage-style doors that open to the sidewalk in warm weather, a cement-top bar, and industrial light fixtures—makes this a cool neighborhood hangout where kids of all ages are welcome.

Wahlburgers (Fenway, Hingham, Lynnfield) – The Triple Decker

Paying homage to the Triple Decker apartment the nine Wahlberg children lived in as children in Dorchester, Chef Paul Wahlberg has crafted a burger with three 3oz. juicy burger patties (proprietary blend of beef by Pat La Frieda) each topped with perfectly melted government cheese stacked on top of lettuce, tomato, onion, Paul’s signature Wahl sauce and housemade pickles on a potato bun. With triple the cheese, it’s the ultimate burger to celebrate the holiday.

Hard Rock Cafe (Faneuil Hall) – The Fiesta Burger

This beloved Boston music venue offers a huge menu of some of the best comfort food and inventive burgers such as The Fiesta Burger. Inspired by the flavors of Mexico, the burger starts with a 1/2 lb Angus Beef patty layered with roasted jalapeno salsa, melted Jack cheese, freshly made guacamole, pico de gallo, crisp lettuce and vine-ripened tomato all atop a toasted brioche bun. This burger is definitely bringing the heat.

Ocean Prime (Seaport) – The Prime Cheeseburger

Tucked away on the Ocean Prime lunch menu is this beauty of a burger featuring an 8 oz. patty topped with Tillamook Cheddar, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato and pickle relish. While primarily known for its fresh, lavish seafood selections, Ocean Prime’s The Prime Cheeseburger is a definite must-try and can certainly compete with some of the best burgers in Boston.
