Standout qualities: Owner Darlene Vella, a self-professed crazy cookie person, wants people to say hers are the best cookies they’ve ever tasted—and they usually do.

What’s unique: Attention to detail. For example, Vella baked many, many chocolate chip cookies and tasted every competitor on the market before settling on her not-too-chewy, not-too-crispy recipe.

Fun fact: Vella, who currently bakes all her sweet treats from her home kitchen, named the business for her four children—three boys and one girl, all under the age of 12.

In the works: A new line of cocktail rimmers and garnishes called Cocktail Complements.
