Callidora Letterpress + Design

Topsfield, callidoradesign.com

Philosophy: Callidora Letterpress + Design strives to create exquisite customized invitations that feel less like standard stationery and more like gifts in themselves. Owner Carrie LeGrow tries to include an element of surprise in each of her designs that elevates her pieces beyond the conventional.

Standout Qualities: Callidora’s wedding suites are entirely customized and created in-studio, from initial design to printing. LeGrow has even been known to craft envelope liners, hand-dye silk ribbons, and sew photographs onto invitations herself.

What’s Unique: All of Callidora’s work is printed one piece and one color at a time on a 19th-century press that LeGrow found gathering dust in a garage and carefully restored over the course of a year.

Simply B

Newburyport, 978-985-3019, simplybprints.com

Philosophy: Simply B aims to customize both a couple’s invitations and their design experience. Owner Mary Barnhart works with clients in whatever way best suits their wedding vision, whether it means collaborating with them on a completely bespoke design or taking the reins to alleviate some of the planning pressure.

Standout Qualities: Barnhart’s designs incorporate bold colors and shapes, elegant script, and even unexpected textures to create invitation suites that merge the classic with the contemporary. She often draws inspiration from her New England surroundings, adding rustic elements, preppy details, and a nautical flair to her designs.

What’s Unique: Barnhart prides herself on developing close relationships with her clients in the process of working together to tailor the perfect invitations.
