Turner’s Seafood

Since 1920, the Turner family has provided the Boston and North Shore with a fresh catch of the day. Having recently opened a location in Salem’s Lyceum Hall, Turner’s satisfies hard-core fish lovers. The historic brick building has become a seafood hot spot. With a motto like “Think Fresh, Think Fish,” you know the proprietors care about quality. The kitchen and raw bar open to the dining area, where you can watch chefs shuck local oysters. Lobster bisque and Portuguese fish stews are delectable starters. Crab cakes are made with local succulent Jonah crab seasoned with tarragon. There are also seafood dish throwbacks, such as Clams Casino; Nana Turner’s Cod Cakes, scallops wrapped in bacon; and Newfoundland Finnan Haddie, a house-smoked North Atlantic haddock baked in a pearl onion au gratin sauce. Turner’s baked stuffed lobster features lobster stuffed with scallops, shrimp, seasonings, and cracker crumbs.
