The Firehouse offers a variety of entertainment—from dramas to children’s musicals to music to comedy—and they give new plays a chance to be seen and heard during their New Works Festival. Beyond that, the 191-seat theatre is situated in Newburyport’s historic downtown. For more than 20 years, the Firehouse Center has supported the cultural arts by staging broad-based productions. They draw patrons of dance, music, theatre, and fine art, and connect the greater community to the stage.

North Shore Music Theatre

Bill Hanney reopened the North Shore Music Theatre in 2010, and hasn’t looked back. Putting on classic Broadway musical sensations such as Singin’ in the Rain, West Side Story, and A Christmas Carol, Hanney continues to keep the region entertained.
