The Peabody Essex Museum is truly the jewel in the North Shore’s artistic crown, boasting peerless collections of maritime art and historic artifacts, the faithfully reconstructed Yin Tu Tang Chinese house, a number of historic homes throughout Salem, and countless other pieces of priceless art. And this year sees the beginning of PEM’s much-anticipated three-year expansion that will include the addition of tens of thousands of square feet of new gallery and offsite collection spaces, a new façade, and more.
