The Crane Estate

PHOTOGRAPH courtesy of the trustees

The Crane Estate is so much more than a beach or a mansion. The more than 2,100-acre Ipswich expanse, managed by The Trustees of Reservations, actually includes three incredible properties: Crane Beach, the Crane Wildlife Refuge, and Castle Hill upon which the historic Georgian-style mansion, The Great House, majestically sits overlooking the ocean. The estate encompasses trails, gardens, protected wildlife, and more. Interpretive programs, tours, events, and general public access ensure that the Crane Estate continues to inspire visitors for generations to come.
