Rockport Music is thrilled to announce the awardees of its 3rd Annual Rockport Music Board of Trustees Scholarship given to exemplary music students, typically one from Rockport High School and the other from Gloucester High School. This year, the awardees are Nicholas Endicott of Rockport High School and the Gloucester Schools scholarship is split between Joshua Cominelli and Alexandra Grace. The scholarship is given in honor of Susan Gray and Alec Dingee and Eve and Phil Cutter.

Nicholas Endicott plans to attend Oberlin College majoring in Creative Writing and Theatre. While in high school, he was very active in multiple organizations including Creative Writing Club, Northeastern Honor Choir, Senior District Chorus, All-State Honor Choir, and served as Class Treasurer and Student Council President.

Joshua plans to attend Gordon College as a Music Education major.  While in high school, he was a member of the Docksiders, a teacher intern, ESL teacher assistant, and volunteered as a musical duo with Alexandra Grace.  Alexandra will also attend Gordon College studying Music and Psychology with the plan to work in Music Therapy.  She was involved in the Gloucester High School Chorus and Docksiders, as well as National Honor Society, Northeast District Chorus, State Chorus and tutored in music, English and math.  She also volunteers at Veteran’s and Memorial Day ceremonies and plays the piano, bass, guitar, drums and sings.

Nicholas Endicott will receive a $1,000 scholarship towards his college education and Joshua Cominelli and Alexandra Grace will each receive a $500 scholarship. The scholarship selection committee is comprised of Rockport Music’s Director of Education & Outreach, Executive Director Tony Beadle, and Kaitlin Shaw, a member of the Rockport Elementary School music faculty.
