Celebrity Designer Commissions Local Porcelain Artist

Elan Vital II now hangs in a private collector’s home.

Porcelain artist Anna Kasabian of Manchester-by-the-Sea recently completed a special commission for celebrity interior designer and television personality Kari Whitman.

Among Whitman’s clients are Jessica Alba, Kristen Bell, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, Don Johnson, Virginia Madsen, Emilio Estevez, and Don Henley. She is known for her eclectic style and knowledge of eco- and pet-friendly design. Ms. Whitman requested a 4 x 5-foot creation.

Made up of tiny, hand-formed porcelain micro-sculptures that recall the artist’s signature floral shapes, Elan Vital II now hangs in a private collector’s home.

Architectural Digest, the Boston Globe, House Beautiful, Veranda, and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, among other press, have featured Anna’s porcelain sculptures.

Architectural Digest called her Tea Rose Blossom sculpture "the epitome of nature-inspired elegance.”

Some of Anna’s works are with private clients across the U.S. as well as The London House Hotel and the Dara Hotel & Spa, both in Chicago. In addition, a selection of sculptures is installed in the AC Marriott in San Juan, Puerto Rico
