The Clean River Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning and maintaining the Merrimack River in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. As the second largest watershed in New England, the Merrimack River is the drinking water supply for over 300,000 area residents.

The Clean River Project was founded in 2005 by Rocky Morrison and a group of committed volunteers to stop the contamination on the river.

The Clean River Project has removed over 100,000 tons of trash and debris from the Merrimack River including more than 10,000 tires and over 100 stolen and abandoned cars. We regularly patrol the river by boat and have ten trash containment booms strategically placed along the river to catch floating debris before it reaches local beaches.

The engines on the boat “The Black Pearl,” Jenni Jones,” and “See Lion” recently expired. We need help to get new engines. The 115 HP engine for the Black Pearl costs $12,000. The Jenni Jones and See Lion each need a 50 HP engine and each one costs $8,000.

This is a chance to have the boat named after you, if you wish! The donation for the Black Pearl and the Jenni Jones will allow your name to be on the boats. The See Lion will retain its name but yours can be included in some manner with the existing name.
