The Trustees of Reservations announced today that Appleton Farms, the nation’s oldest continually operating farm located in Ipswich, Massachusetts, will be one of more than 30 vendors selling locally produced foods at the new Boston Public Market scheduled to open this July.

Modeled after their on-site dairy store, Appleton Farms’ booth will sit among some of New England’s finest local farmers, fishermen, and food purveyors. They will feature products made from their Jersey dairy herd including bottled milk, plain and flavored yogurts, and a selection of aged and semi-soft farmstead cheeses.

A unique selection of artisanal cheeses crafted by some of the most skilled, creative, and award-winning members of the Massachusetts Cheese Guild will also be available. Collectively, the Appleton Farms vendor booth will represent one of the largest selections of Massachusetts-made cheeses available.

“We are pleased to be partnering with the Massachusetts Cheese Guild to offer a larger variety of locally produced cheeses in our market booth,” says The Trustees of Reservations Regional Director Terry Cook. Indeed, it is fitting that Boston’s first, year-round public market will feature a selection of dairy products made at America’s oldest working farm.

Additionally, they will sell a selection of seasonal items produced at other Trustees’ farms including maple syrup, fruit, herbs, and vegetables, as well as other locally sourced farm products like honey, eggs, and crackers and spreads.

The permanent year-round market will open this July on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway directly above the Haymarket MBTA station. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 8pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
