Salem Food Tours is pleased to welcome Ledger Restaurant & Bar. Located at 125 Washington Street in the former Salem Savings Bank building (circa 1818). “This historically unique location houses a progressive New England concept, where traditional 19th-century dishes, cocktails, and techniques will be elevated with 21st-century resources.”

Fresh made crepes, from savory to sweet, in this new downtown eatery. Crepes are a great alternative to “fast food” when you need a quick bite. They offer both traditional and gluten free buckwheat flour crepes, filled with everything from fresh fruit to vegetables, cheeses, meats to Nutella. Mr. Crepe is open 7 days a week in Salem. 

 

March Food Related Happenings

Earlier this month, Melt Ice Cream opened for the season, fellow ice cream lovers rejoice! Visit their new website for current flavors and more.

A&J King’s March menu as well as special Easter and Passover menu is now available. Place your Easter order by March 25 for pick up on Saturday March 31, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. or April 1, (Easter Sunday) 7 a.m.-12 p.m.

Jodi Bee Bakes will be offering a special Easter menu, please check their Facebook page in the coming days for details.

Jean Louis Pasta Shop is taking special orders for Easter. Don’t forget they also have vegan and gluten free options.

“Beer and Oysters” at SeaLevel Oyster Bar & Kitchen, every Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.: beer flight and 1/2 dozen oysters for $10.

Saturdays, 4 p.m.-6 p.m., stop by Pamplemousse for their weekly free wine tastings.

Saturday, March 17, Finz and SeaLevel will be doing St Patty’s day specials and boiled dinners.

March 22-29 is the 2018 Salem Film Festival. Special events during the Festival include nights at Tour Partners Notch Brewing and SeaLevel.

Easter Sunday, April 1:

The Pickering House will be running an Easter Egg Hunt for children. Information coming soon on their Facebook page.

Easter Grand Buffet at the Hawthorne Hotel.

Finz will be offering their Easter Brunch buffet and Chef said they’ll have some great items this year.

Brodies Seaport will be open on Easter and will have live music.

Olde Main Street Pub will be open, menu to be announced.

Gulu-Gulu Cafe and Flying Saucer Pizza will both be open on Easter. Both restaurants will be rolling out new menus on April 1. And Flying Saucer will once again be serving from their seasonal spirits license starting 4/1.

Salem Spirits Trolley

Tickets are now available for the 2018 Salem Spirits Trolleys. The public excursions run seasonally from the end of September through early November. Visit the calendar and click through to your desired month.

Looking to book a Spirits Trolley for your corporate or private group? Salem Food Tours offers Spirits Trolley’s by request to larger groups of up to 34 guests weekday afternoons and some Sundays April through November. Email info@salemspiritstrolley.com to craft your special excursion!

It’s an exciting time at The House of the Seven Gables, with special events running throughout 2018 celebrating its 350th birthday.

Salem Food Tours is honored to stage a special benefit Tour for The Gables. Join them on Sunday, March 18, for “A Taste of Celebration.” The afternoon will kick off with a toast at the historic property, and then walk through Salem enjoying delicious bites. Grand Tasting 2018 & Culinary Markeplace, Thursday, March 29

Head north and enjoy Northshore magazine’s fourth annual Grand Tasting & Culinary Marketplace event at The Blue Ocean Event Center in Salisbury. The all-inclusive experience featured wine, food, beer, spirits, live music, chef demos, unique culinary products from local and regional artisans, and more.
