Barrel House American Bar

Right in downtown Beverly, with its tin ceiling, reclaimed wood floor, period lighting, and tufted banquettes, the Barrel House is welcoming and comfortable. Deals can get made here over classics like Hemingway’s rum favorite or the bourbon-heavy Brown Derby, while house creations like the Killing Floor or Against the Strain might become necessary. The truly brave might just order the Bartender’s Choice and see what happens. Ordering dinner is a no-brainer when the menu boasts cask ale and oysters, a terrific steak frites, poutine, beef carpaccio and a daily assortment of charcuterie. On Throwback Thursdays, the chef does new twists on childhood favorites. Sunday is Farm to Fork, showcasing the bounty of local farms and producers.

Yard House

Lynnfield’s Yard House is the perfect place to meet up with buds for beers, burgers, and BS. Always hopping, the Yard House has tons of shareable apps and entrées. Pair up an order of blue crab cakes and Wisconsin fried cheese curds with a Cisco Grey Lady, a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout or any one of their over 125 beers on tap. Or sample their Chalkboard Series, a rotating selection of draft beers. Feeling particularly spicy? Order a round of their signature cocktail, El Picante. Make sure to ask for Casamigos tequila. Trust us on this.
