Celebrate All-You-Can-Eat Meatball Day with Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) as they present the all new musical production of CURIOUS GEORGE AND THE GOLDEN MEATBALL. Featuring everyone’s favorite monkey, CURIOUS GEORGE AND THE GOLDEN MEATBALL will be performed February 18 through 26 at Arlington’s Regent Theatre, and March 4 through 19 at The Larcom Theatre in Beverly, MA.

“We are so excited to be producing the new adaptation of this hilarious family-friendly musical,” said Toby Schine, BCT Executive Director and Producer, and co-director of the production. “We are especially happy to feature 12-year old Edan Zinn in the role of ‘Curious George.’ It takes a unique actor to play this role, and we know audiences will certainly appreciate his talents and those of this incredibly passionate and enthusiastic cast.”

In this new musical, audiences are invited to join the fun-loving little monkey Curious George as he helps his friend Chef Pisghetti cook the most delicious meatballs. See what happens when Curious George enters the meatballs in the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest in Rome! Add a dash of a secret ingredient- fun!- and you have a family musical that will tickle the tastes of even the youngest theatergoers! With music by John Kavanaugh and book and lyrics by Jeremy Desmon, CURIOUS GEORGE AND THE GOLDEN MEATBALL is based on the books by Margret and H.A. Rey and the play owned by Universal Stage Productions. The BCT production is directed by Toby Schine and directed and choreographed by Chris Cavallo with musical direction by Austin Davy.

CURIOUS GEORGE AND THE GOLDEN MEATBALL features a talented cast of 9 local actors including Burlington student Patrick Creedon as ‘Phinneas T. Lightspeed’; Dover student William Gately in the ‘Ensemble’; Gloucester students Jack Kelly as ‘Man in the Yellow Hat’ and Dylan Kerr in the ‘Ensemble’ and Dance Captain; Jamaica Plain student Edan Zinn as ‘Curious George’; Medford student Jenna McLaughlin in the ‘Ensemble’; Needham student Julia Chase as ‘Netti’; Newton student Bea DeJesus in the ‘Ensemble’; and Sudbury student Owen Sherrin as ‘Chef Pisghetti’.

CURIOUS GEORGE AND THE GOLDEN MEATBALL will be performed at The Regent Theatre, 7 Medford Street, Arlington, MA February 18 to 26. Performances are February 18 at 4 pm; February 19 at 2 pm; February 22 at 2 pm; February 23 at 2 pm; February 24 at 2 pm; February 25 at 10 am and 2 pm; and February 26 at 2 pm. The musical then moves to the Larcom Theatre, 13 Wallis Street, Beverly, MA for March 4 through 19. Performances are March 4 at 2 pm; March 5 at 10 am and 2 pm; March 11 at 2 pm; March 12 at 10 am and 2 pm; March 18 at 2 pm and 4 pm; and March 19 at 10 am and 2 pm. Single tickets for all performances are $15 to $25 and can be purchased at www.bostonchildrenstheatre.org.
