Lark Hotels, the innovative hospitality brand renowned for its mischief-meets-modern inspired properties, will host a week long pop-up shop at 144 Newbury Street (at the corner of Dartmouth Street) from December 13-18, 2016. The pop-up is part of “The Shop,” a season long incubator program created by The Newbury Collection, which hosts local entrepreneurs and well-established brands.

The Lark Hotels pop-up will give holiday shoppers and passers-by an exclusive first glimpse at the design concept and signature Lark Suite at the forthcoming Salem, Massachusetts property, The Hotel Salem, and a chance to win a stay in the 44-room hotel and restaurant, slated to open on Salem’s bustling Essex Street pedestrian mall in the summer of 2017.

Housed in a former department store space, the property will be outfitted in mid-century modern décor with vintage retailinspired touches that hint at its stylish past. The pop-up will also showcase The Queen Suite at Gilded, the brand’s daringly-designed Newport, Rhode Island hotel that demonstrates a clever twist on the Gilded Age. The Shop will sell the brand’s most coveted design elements from their roster of 18 properties and allow shoppers to book and gift hotel stays through an onsite concierge team. In the evening hours, the pop-up will bring the holiday season to life with a series of instructional demonstrations and style showcases from some of Boston’s own makers and influencers.

Lark Hotels’ interior designers, most notably Boston-based Director of Design, Rachel Reider, have hand selected their favorite decor items, displayed in the shop’s “Lark Loves” section, which allows guests to shop the look  from their favorite Lark properties. Popular design elements and amenities from all of Lark’s properties will be available for gifting, from their luxurious deluxe microfiber sheets to side tables, artwork, travel accessories, and stocking stuffers from the hotel collection’s signature bath amenity partner, LATHER. Items range from the playful décor of Summercamp on Martha’s Vineyard to natural elements at luxe lodge, Field Guide in Stowe, Vermont, and the simple, coastally-inspired look of Blue, Inn on the Beach on Plum Island.

“From its mid-century modern design to its dramatic high ceilings and history as a retail hub, The Hotel Salem will be unlike any of our other properties,” said Chief Inspiration Officer, Dawn Hagin. “It only seems fitting to debut a portion of its design in a way that is truly unique. We’re thrilled to welcome Bostonians for a refreshingly different holiday shopping experience, and a chance to see, feel, and experience our next project, The Hotel Salem.”

Event programming, taking place throughout the week, will allow guests to take a break from hectic holiday shopping and indulge in a mini-getaway right on Newbury Street.
