Public Skating Ice Rink at MarketStreet Lynnfield is Open for the Season

MarketStreet Lynnfield, the North Shore’s largest open-air shopping destination, officially opens its public ice skating rink for the season. The MarketStreet Rink, presented by Lahey Health, enters its fourth consecutive year as one of the most sought after skating destinations in New England. With views of Reedy Meadow and neighbors such as J.Crew, Vineyard Vines, J.P. Licks, lululemon athletica and FuGaKyu Japanese Cuisine, The MarketStreet Rink is an ideal place for families and friends to enjoy the time-honored tradition of outdoor winter skating.  

The MarketStreet Rink is a classic 50 x 100 foot skating rink situated on The Green, the centerpiece of MarketStreet Lynnfield’s community events, performances and gatherings. The rink is illuminated by snowflake lights and features festive music during the holiday season. A 200-ton refrigeration unit ensures optimal ice temperature, even in warmer temperatures. MarketStreet Lynnfield will incorporate the rink into its numerous seasonal celebrations, including this year’s Holiday Stroll on Sunday, November 20, 2016 and its annual New Years Eve Block Party on December 31, 2016.

This season, MarketStreet Lynnfield is excited to welcome Lahey Health as the presenting sponsor of its ice skating rink. “Lahey Health is proud to sponsor the rink at MarketStreet Lynnfield because it fits our mission to enhance the health and well-being of the communities we serve,” said Christine Healey, Director of Community Relations for Lahey Health.  “This is a great family destination, and we are excited to be a part of bringing it to the residents of the North Shore.”

The MarketStreet Rink will be open from November 11, 2016 through late February, 2017. Hours and rates for the season are as follows; guests can rent skates or bring their own. Pending availability, the rink can also be rented for private parties and events.

  • Monday – Thursday:     4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Friday:                           4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Saturday:                       11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Sunday:                         11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • School Vacation Days: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Skating Rates:

  • Ages 13 and up: $8.00
  • Children 12 and under: $6.00
  • Children 3 and under: Free
  • Skate Rentals: $4.00

* Skating conditions and hours are weather dependent.

* Skaters are permitted to bring their own ice skates.

* Limited skate sizes and quantities are available for rent.
