One special way to personally connect with The House of the Seven Gables on its 350th anniversary is to make a painting of the iconic American mansion known for its stately countenance and seven peaked gables.

On a beautiful Saturday morning in May, those interested are invited to sit in The Gables’ beautiful seaside gardens, sip mimosas, nibble fresh pastries, and quietly observe the house that inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne to write his classic novel, The House of the Seven Gables. When you are ready to paint, local artist and instructor Linda Abbene will be at your side to guide you through the process, step by step.

Paint The Gables is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. The $50 price includes refreshments, supplies, and instruction. You will leave with your own rendering of The House of the Seven Gables knowing that a portion of your fee will go directly to The House of the Seven Gables Settlement Association in support of programs for the local immigrant population.

Sponsors for the 350th anniversary of The House of the Seven Gables are The Salem Inn and Soucy Insurance.
