2016 Prom Hair Trends

Stylist Eileen D’Agati of Philip Ciampa Salon says that girls going to prom are looking for styles that incorporate big braids.  “I used to have my girls come in looking for a lot of small braiding throughout their up-do.  Now my girls want one big loose braid worn to the side.” Stylist Bernice Ayala adds, “girls going to prom are looking for simple braiding.” Philip Ciampa Stylist Brianna Lombardi is getting requests for “fishtail braids, dutch rope braids, loose buns, messy undone looks, sleep ponytails, beach waves, and textured looks.”

William Francis, stylist at Philip Ciampa Salon, is noticing the hair trends moving from a “set look” to something “softer and lighter with more movement.” Stylist Jamie Ciampa says her prom looks include “braids, half up/half down styles and low side buns.”

2016 Wedding Hair Trends

Philip Ciampa Stylist Eileen D’Agati is finding that brides’ tastes are changing as well. “We’re seeing more weddings in a casual setting.” Brides are wanting their hair to reflect that. They are requesting more messy and relaxed looks to fit their venue.”

Heidi Carroll’s brides are looking for styles that are looser and less formal. Jamie Ciampa says that her brides are asking for styles with “deep side parts with Hollywood waves.” For a more traditional look, brides are requesting a “classic chignon.” Jamie says, “We’re seeing more and more destination weddings, where the bride gravitates towards Bo-ho beachy waves.”

Extensions are also popular to give brides a fullness they may not otherwise have. The hair will last through their honeymoon and well after so brides love it!

2016 Skincare before Proms + Weddings

Makeup (for prom, wedding, or any event) looks best on healthy skin. Your esthetician can help you create a treatment plan to achieve flawless skin for your wedding, prom, or other important event. An exfoliating facial will help clear up breakouts and reveal fresh new skin cells to get you ready for your big day. “For Spring or Summer special occasion, a gentle and refreshing pomegranate peel facial will do just the trick to give you a fresh, youthful glow,” says esthetician Michelle Andersen.
