AmpSurf will hold its 5th annual adaptive learn-to-surf clinic at DCR Nahant Beach Reservation on Saturday, August 19.

AmpSurf Nahant is an event where anyone with any kind of disability can participate in adaptive surf therapy with certified adaptive surf instructors for free. The event is held at DCR Nahant Beach Reservation from 7 a.m. until around 1:30 p.m. AmpSurf is able to accommodate a maximum of 30 adaptive surfers at their surf clinics. Unfortunately, this popular clinic is already full but the Middletown, Rhode Island clinic on September 16 still has some slots available.

It takes about 60 volunteers along with the AmpSurf volunteer staff to run a surf clinic. So far only have about 30 registered for Nahant. Participants and volunteers are well taken care of with free coffee from Dunkin Donuts and pizza. If you want to volunteer at AmpSurf Nahant, you can register at ampsurf.org/ampsurf-east-2-2/. Anyone can volunteer; beach volunteers and water helpers are needed.
