Coastal Discoveries

For 26 years, Captain Bob Yeomans has spent summers discovering the history and ecology of our coastal waters—from Merrimack River estuary to the Isles of Shoals and from Jeffrey’s Ledge to Thacher Island—aboard the Erica Lee II. Yeomans runs a week-long marine education program for kids throughout the summer months. Fishing, dory races, whale watching, hauling lobster traps, and a day spent on Wingaersheek Beach are all part of the fun. Kids 12 years old or older are welcome to take part

“While teaching respect for the creatures in our watery environment we hope to instill a desire in all who attend Coastal Discoveries to preserve and protect the waters that make up the Gulf of Maine and the rivers that connect us to the Gulf,” says Yeomans.
