Weighing in at 2,009 pounds, Ron Wallace’s pumpkin broke the world record this past Friday night. Entering the giant pumpkin he has been nurturing since April in the Topsfield Fair contest, the Rhode Island resident won a grand prize of $15,500. The total money prize combined $5,500 for first place in the contest, plus an additional $10,000 for weighing in at over 2,000 pounds-breaking the previous 1,843.5-pound record set at the Deerfield Fair in New Hampshire.

The pumpkin will remain on display for the continuation of the Topsfield Fair, which runs through Columbus Day.
