Ristorante Lucia’s Tour d’Italia Basilicata Pasta Making Class

Filippo Frattaroli and his son Philip Frattaroli, owners of Ristorante Lucia, one of Boston’s oldest authentic North End Italian restaurants and sister restaurant, Ristorante Lucia Winchester, invite you to a new cooking and dining series, Lucia’s Tour d’Italia. The restaurants will host regular events, including cooking classes at the Winchester location featuring a pasta local to a specific region, and five-course wine dinners at the North End Boston location, featuring the same pasta as well as other dishes from the region, paired with top wines. Each month in the series is focused on a different Italian region, having started with Abruzzo, the region the Frattarolis hail from, and working through the other regions alphabetically. Coming in February is Basilicata, the southern mountain region bordering Calabria and Puglia.
Tour d’Italia (Winchester) is an ongoing cooking class series where Chef will teach first-hand how to make classic Italian meals from the 20 regions of Italy—in alphabetical order. Participants will enjoy learning to make Italian favorites like Maccheroni Chitarra and Làgane. Classes include: meal creation, notebooks, recipes, aprons, and a family-style feast. Learn the secrets of perfect pasta, sauce and pairings! The culinary tour through the 20 regions of Italy continues with a Basilicata Làgane pasta making class on Sunday, February 10 at Ristorante Lucia Winchester, followed by a Basilicata five-course wine pairing dinner at Ristorante Lucia in the North End on Thursday, February 21.
