Join some of New England’s finest Chefs as they cook you a multi-course dinner in the Smolak Farms Pine Grove. A “Farm to Table” experience\, much of the produce used in our dinners is grown at our farm\, so you will experience the seasonal fruits and vegetables. Menus will be posted at least 2 weeks before each dinner. The Guest Chefs will create their menus on a “Whim” based on the freshest produce available from Smolak Farms. \n\n\n\n…… \n\n\n\nAll of the Whim Dinner series events feature a pre-fixed menu that are prepared under the Smolak Farms tent. Their chefs will do their best to accommodate any dietary or allergen restrictions that we are made aware of ahead of time. Unfortunately they may not be able to accommodate last minute requests since the meals will be prepared on site. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBelow is a schedule of confirmed 2024 Whim Dinner events. SUMMARY:Revolutionary Liber-TEA High Tea 2024
DESCRIPTION:During this commemorative year leading up to the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington taking place on April 19\, 2025\, this American Revolution-themed high tea honoring the start of the American Revolution will feature three of the five teas that were thrown overboard during the infamous Boston Tea Party in 1773: Bohea\, Hyson and Souchong\, provided by local area J’enwey Tea Company.  \n\n\n\nBohea: One of the first teas imported by the East India Company in the 18th-century. This black tea was fired or dried over charcoal before being transported to the American colonies.  \n\n\n\nHyson: This early spring green tea is picked by April 20 annually and was a favorite of both George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. This tea was so desired by English consumers that it was taxed at a higher rate than other teas.  \n\n\n\nSouchong: This classic black tea came from the Wuyi Mountains in the Fujian province of China. It is famous for its very distinctive smoky aroma.  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe teas\, which can be served hot or iced\, are served along with sweet and savory bites including freshly baked scones\, soup\, tea sandwiches and dessert plus a glass of Schramsberg Mirabelle Sparkling Rosé or a tea cocktail. DESCRIPTION:Whim is a unique “pop up” dining experience held every Wednesday evening from June to August at Smolak Farms. Join some of New England’s finest Chefs as they cook you a multi-course dinner in the Smolak Farms Pine Grove. A “Farm to Table” experience\, much of the produce used in our dinners is grown at our farm\, so you will experience the seasonal fruits and vegetables. Menus will be posted at least 2 weeks before each dinner. The Guest Chefs will create their menus on a “Whim” based on the freshest produce available from Smolak Farms. \n\n\n\n…… \n\n\n\nAll of the Whim Dinner series events feature a pre-fixed menu that are prepared under the Smolak Farms tent. Their chefs will do their best to accommodate any dietary or allergen restrictions that we are made aware of ahead of time. Unfortunately they may not be able to accommodate last minute requests since the meals will be prepared on site. \n\n\n\n\n\nBelow is a schedule of confirmed 2024 Whim Dinner events. Combining the magic of warm summer nights with dynamic interpretations of chamber music gems and vibrant new music\, MSCM offers exciting performances that welcome audiences of all backgrounds and ages.  \n\n\n\nFounded in 2009 by Manchester native Sage Cole and Andover native Lorna Tsai\, MSCM is dedicated to sharing classical music of the highest caliber with the communities of the North Shore. Eighteen musicians from around the world will come together throughout August to create the joyful\, engaging concerts that audiences have come to expect from MSCM. \n\n\n\n\n\n August 10\, 7 PM: “Kindred Spirits” is the first of the three concerts at the Barn at Crane Estate at 290 Argilla Road\, Ipswich\, MA. MSCM kicks off the season with favorites from Mozart\, Brahms\, and Mendelssohn\, together with rollicking fun from Caroline Shaw\, Peter Shickele\, and Paquito D’Rivera.  \n\n\n\nAugust 17\, 7 PM: “La Vie Est Belle” at the Barn at Crane Estate\, 290 Argilla Road\, Ipswich\, MA. Dr. Ryo Yanagitani will narrate an evening of French music that highlights a hidden gem – Cécile Chaminade’s Piano Trio No. 1\, as well as works by César Franck\, Gabriel Faure.  \n\n\n\nAugust 24\, 7 PM: “With Fire” is the last concert of the season and the third concert at the Barn at the Crane Estate\, 290 Argilla Road\, Ipswich\, MA. MSCM’s season finale will feature the effervescent Mendelssohn String Octet in its entirety\, along with string quartet favorites by Beethoven\, Debussy\, and Schubert.
