Set at Liberty: Stories of the Enslaved

December 13, 2025 @ 9:30 am 4:00 pm

On view now at the Cabot House, Historic Beverly!

This powerful exhibition uncovers the lives of the enslaved men, women, and children who lived and labored in Beverly from the seventeenth through the early nineteenth centuries. Through rare documents, personal stories, and newly interpreted research, Set at Liberty brings to light the individuals whose experiences have long been overlooked in traditional New England history.

Visitors are invited to explore the legacies of slavery in a northern coastal town and consider how these stories shape our understanding of community, identity, and freedom today. On view during regular museum hours at the Cabot House 117 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA.
