Veterans Getting A Second Shot

The On Course Foundation is an international non-profit that works to use golf as a platform to support disabled veterans achieve professional and personal stability and success. The Simpson Cup is an annual competition between disabled veterans from the US and UK, held at Major championship venues. 
On June 20 – 22, 2023 the Kernwood Country Club in Salem will host practice and qualifying rounds for 24 disabled US veterans who hope to play on the US team at the championship at Royal Lytham and St. Annes later this year. 
These veterans are experiencing any number of disabilities, ranging from loss of limb to PTSD.
Opportunities to use golf as a path to confidence and even a new profession are fostered at events like this and through ongoing programming. 
David McKiernan, US Army Retired, Four Star General is a member of Kernwood and a Board Director of the On Course Foundation  is available to meet as are select veterans playing in the event. Kernwood’s professional staff and board is also available to discuss Kernwood’s commitment to this type of community engagement and philanthropy.
