Nothing says spring quite like sweet treats, good wine and cordials! On Saturday, April 29th, 2017 from 1:00PM and 5:00PM, The Wine ConneXtion, located in North Andover, MA, is bringing Joanne Chang of Flour and Myers & Chang to the North Shore for a complimentary tasting of her famed Flour favorites paired with a selection of seasonal wines and fine cordials.
Guests can socialize and experience tasting a group of selected wines and cordials while sampling a unique take on Joanne’s famous Sticky Bun Kouign-amann, a round cake, made with viennoiserie dough containing layers of butter and sugar folded in, served with caramel goo, whipped cream and pecans! During the meet and greet with Joanne, guests will also have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of her four published cookbooks.
2016 James Beard Award winner, Joanne Chang opened Flour in 2000 with the inspiration to make life sweeter. The bakery and café has been featured in Gourmet, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Lucky magazine, Inc. Magazine, and Boston magazine, as well as receiving a slew of “Best of Boston” awards. Joanne’s sticky buns became nationally known in 2007 when she beat Bobby Flay in a throwdown on the Food Network, gaining popularity and becoming one of the most iconic flavors around Boston. Joanne’s love for food also goes beyond the kitchen. She has authored four cookbooks: Flour, Spectacular Recipes from Boston’s Flour Bakery+Cafe and Flour Too, Indispensable Recipes for the Cafe’s Most Loved Sweets and Savories, Baking with Less Sugar: Recipes for Dessert using Natural Sweeteners and Little-to-No White Sugar, and Myers+Chang at Home: Recipes from the Beloved Boston Eatery, as well as staying busy writing pastry articles and reviewing cookbooks for Fine Cooking Magazine!
