Celebrating her 10th year in business last fall, owner Hilary Larson remains dedicated to unique and beautiful custom cake creations, from a Tinkerbell theme for a four year old’s birthday party to a towering, delectable delight for the wrap party for John Travolta’s latest movie, The Forger. Thanks to fantastic word-of-mouth (and media attention, including an appearance on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars), business is booming—especially in the bridal market. Larson’s creations aren’t just eye candy, they taste as good as they look, packed with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. From fresh fruit pureés to indulgent chocolate ganache, everything is made fresh to order—the shop doesn’t even have a freezer, and Larson vows it never will.
