MARBLEHEAD – May 20, 2009 – The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for new member Evan’s New York Style Deli at their location, 31 Smith Street, Marblehead.
Owners Evan Madoff and Shannon Dugas have been bringing a taste of New York to Marblehead since August of 2007. Evan earned his “PHD in Deli-Ology” while living and working in New York city, the “birthplace of deli.” When he moved back to Massachusetts, he recognized the need for true New-York style deli in Marblehead and opened Evan’s Deli. The sandwiches served at Evan’s are, according to the Phantom Gourmet, “Outrageously oversized and authentically delicious.”
The most popular sandwich is arguably the Corned Beef Ruben, which is available in two sizes and comes with Sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing served on toasted pumpernickel bread. Other specialty sandwiches include Roast Beef, Romanian Pastrami, Beef Brisket and Smoked Turkey. Hot Knishes, club sandwiches, soups, bagels and breakfast sandwiches are also available seven days a week. Evan’s Deli provides party platters and catering services for events both big and small, from weddings backyard parties to corporate events.
