Ipswich Author Is an Amazon Best Seller

Andrew Boylan's psychological thriller hits No. 1.

Author of the psychological thriller Sacrifice, Andrew Boylan, saw his debut novel soar to the top of the Amazon best sellers list. After several months of events, panels, and appearances, most recently the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and StokerCon in Long Beach, California, his debut novel has caught a cresting wave of readership.

“I’ve been writing alone in my office for many years,” Boylan says of his sudden notoriety. “It’s nice to know people are engaging with my work. I always held onto the hope that if my story found the right audience people would respond.”

Boylan spent several years researching Los Hermanos de Penitente at the Santa Fe Public Library before crafting the novel Sacrifice. He loves infusing his fiction with little known historical events. Los Hermanos de Penitente is a controversial cult that flourished in the 1690s around the southwest. The last known appearance of the cult was in the 1930s when reporter Carol Taylor was murdered for photographing their rituals as part of research for a feature story in Today Magazine. Like Dan Brown’s DiVinci Code, Boylan courts controversy by blending fact and fiction in his novel.
