As the warmth of summer prompts many to find a shady spot on the beach or pack a picnic and venture off on an excursion to soak up the sun and enjoy every moment; many families in our area face a ticking clock as they try to find a way to provide the required school supplies their child needs before the first class bell rings. Over the past decade, Community of Friends has provided hundreds of area children with new backpacks and school supplies.  This past October, SPUR was selected by Community of Friends to carry this great work forward.
