The quaint red building on downtown Rockport’s Bradley Wharf is a replica of a fishing shack built in 1840 to hold supplies and catch, and quickly became a hallmark of the region. The Pink House, Newbury
The pink house in Newbury is much more mysterious than Rockport’s straightforward shack—built in 1925, it stands all alone in the marsh on the drive out to Plum Island. Its abandonment was the product of an ill-fated marriage, but in 2017 a preservation movement was started at supportthepinkhouse.com.
