2023 Kids’ Program, Arts/Theatre

Editors’ Choice

Cape Ann Art Haven, Gloucester

This Gloucester art school aims to bring art education to everyone on Cape Ann, regardless of skill level or income. Almost 50 percent of its programming, like jewelry making for middle schoolers or pottery wheel throwing for adults, is offered via scholarship to low-income families. The nonprofit believes strongly in the benefits of art expression—it can be calming and meditative, improve self-esteem, enhance brain function, and help build community. 20 Maplewood Ave. Unit 3, Gloucester, 978-283-3888, arthaven.org
