A&J King Artisan Bakers will celebrate 12 years of lovingly crafting artisan baked goods on Thursday, June 28. Founders Andy and Jackie King met at the New England Culinary Institute and honed their craft at Standard Baking Co. in Portland, Maine, before opening the bakery at 48 Central Street in Salem in 2006. Over the past dozen years, the couple has partnered with over a dozen local purveyors, garnered numerous awards, and now delivers artisan breads to over 50 top markets and restaurants in Boston and on the North Shore. 

The Kings opened a second retail location on Boston Street in Salem last year that features an espresso bar and state-of-the-art baking environment. “We are grateful to our loyal customers for sharing our passion for the craft of artisan baking,” says Andy King. A&J King Artisan Bakers will be giving away Bavarian pretzels to customers on Thursday, June 28 while they last. A&J Artisan Bakers plan to launch a Whole Grain CSA at the end of the summer. For more information, visit
