On April 29, supporters of the Northeast Arc filled the ballroom of the Danversport Yacht Club for an auction and fashion show. Fourteen pairs of models took the runway, featuring a celebrity/dignitary with someone who is receiving or has received services from the Northeast Arc.
See some highlights below.
Elisa and Mitch Holt of Danvers walked the runway with their 3-year old son, Noah, representing the Northeast Arc’s early Intervention Program. Noah was 6-months old and woke up suddenly paralyzed from the waist down. It was a very scary time for the Holts, but with quick medical care by the experts at Boston Children’s Hospital followed by therapy from the Northeast Arc’s Early Intervention team, as you can see, Noah is making great progress using his walker as he learns how to walk.
Daniel Miller, Morning News Anchor on Boston 25, joined Chris Stark of Wakefield to strike a pose on the runway. Miller came to Breaking Grounds, where Stark works as a host, a couple of months ago to do a story on this incredible coffee shop in Peabody that serves as a training ground for people with disabilities that are interested in working in the food service industry. Miller was immediately impressed with the organization and volunteered on the spot to be part of the fashion show with Chris who was representing the Northeast Arc’s STEP Program.
4 year-old Hailey Beatrice takes a spin down the runway with Eastern Bank president, Quincy Miller. Beatrice represented the Northeast Arc’s inclusive First Steps program.
Peabody City Councilor, Tom Gould, owner of Treadwell’s Ice Cream in Peabody and Chairman of the Northeast Arc’s Black Box Theater Committee escorts his friend, Gabriella Foley, who works as a Host at the Breaking Grounds Café, and represented the Northeast Arc’s STEP Program on the runway.
Jeffrey Musman of Nahant, a partner in the law firm, Seyfarth Shaw, who received the 2nd annual Changing Lives award from the Northeast Arc, poses with Arelis O’Neal, who created the painting Musman received as his award. O’Neal also participated in the fashion show representing the Northeast Arc’s ArcWorks Art Program.
