Two major names in the North Shore beauty industry, INTERLOCKS Salon & MedSpa and Salon Invi, have successfully navigated trends and business growth over their many years in operation. In 2026, after both underwent comprehensive rebranding efforts and full renovations of their spaces, they have entered a new chapter once again. In conversations with their owners—and in experiencing their thoughtful services and spaces—it is apparent that these businesses have leaned into quiet luxury, health and wellness, and developing talent that delivers the highest level of care and service.

With more than 25 years in the industry as a stylist and salon owner, Chris Kishfy, founder and owner of Salon Invi, has a wealth of experience and inspiration to draw upon. In anticipation of his Andover salon’s 17th anniversary, Kishfy spent the past two years rebranding and fully renovating the salon. After shutting down this past July, Kishfy led a complete renovation of the salon. “The spaces we choose shape the way we feel. I wanted our clients, To walk in, Take a breath and to feel at ease,” explains Kishfy. The new salon invites clients to slow down and feel relaxed in an atmosphere of quiet luxury while being cared for by his staff.

“We brought together, soft, white tones, polished concrete, natural wood, and light fabrics to create a calm welcoming space. Every detail comes back to our clients comfort,” says Kishfy. When clients enter the new salon, they notice oversized stone hanging planters filled with green foliage in front of large windows lined with fabric to filter the natural light. Beneath the planters, a layer of white river rock completes the Mykonos-meets-Tulum vibe. Kishfy sourced the planters from Mykonos. The front desk, made with seven layers of locally sourced live-edge wood panels, rounds out the nature driven environment. Clients can luxuriate in thoughtful touches such as martini tables for drinks and phones and cubbies to store their belongings while relaxing at new styling stations with full-length mirrors. Ultraviolet processing lamps, rather than direct-heat lamps, provide plenty of space around the head and relief from overheating. Clients can also elevate their feet while sinking into comfortable chairs at the sinks.

Salon Invi stylists evaluate a client’s hair and scalp section by section before considering how a particular cut might complement their facial structure. Improving the hair’s health and texture is as important as getting the right cut and color, reflecting the belief that beauty is more than what appears on the surface. The salon’s natural, holistic and luxurious atmosphere extends to an upcoming expansion of services beyond its current offerings. “We see hair and scalp care as part of a broader approach to wellness. “We’re exploring products and treatments in thoughtful ways, which brings that vision to life— helping our clients feel as good as they look,” says Kishfy. He will also bring in other practitioners to concentrate on internal health and wellness and how those factors are reflected in the health and appearance of the scalp and hair.

INTERLOCKS Salon & MedSpa, Newburyport

In its 38 years in business, INTERLOCKS—founded by Ginny Eramo, its current MedSpa managing director and Salon president—has seen many renovations, but this time, leadership focused on elevating the client experience. Jordan Becker, CEO and creative director of INTERLOCKS Salon, describes the company’s 2023 rebranding as an effort to emphasize authentic, inclusive beauty. “We are there to empower you to be the best version of yourself. It’s not creating a look or being a certain way or trend. It’s about what makes you feel confident. I think that goes across both spaces, both MedSpa and Salon,” says Becker. “In our rebrand, we wanted to make sure that we had a full representation of all hair textures. And then within our space, we wanted to make sure that the products we offer as well ass the service ranges are inclusive. There’s no men’s hair. It’s just a haircut.”

The rebranding led first to an expansion of the MedSpa, completed at the end of 2024, followed by the Salon renovation, which took place from January through October 2025. A glass atrium connects the two spaces, creating a seamless transition for staff and clients. For the MedSpa renovation, INTERLOCKS expanded into two new state-of-the-art medical treatment rooms and built out a lounge used for IV drip therapy, with fully reclining chairs that cocoon clients during treatment. The color palette features INTERLOCKS’ core shade of deep, rich chocolate brown, along with soft whites, creams, burnt gold, and two blue tones that play off the coastal elements in the artwork and the water visible through the windows.

For the salon renovation, the team moved away from bright whites and chrome detailing in favor of elements inspired by nature and the seaside community. The salon uses much of the same color palette as the MedSpa, with the addition of crimson. There are two functioning salon spaces centered around an expansive color kitchen with an oversized island, along with a buyer’s office, a dimly lit and cozy color processing lounge, a bar with leather chairs for clients who want to work while processing, and an extensive makeup bar and island. The redesigned space has also allowed for an expansion of the hair-extension department. The two spacious and stylish salon areas center around a full wall of windows at the back of the space, with stations featuring full-length mirrors and curved black styling chairs. The separate salon spaces allow for educational programming for staff, private client consultations, and philanthropic opportunities.

“We’re grateful that we have room to grow further because we were really maxed out in our space. We didn’t add any additional square footage. We just reworked how we were using that square footage, which really was the trickiest part of the reno,” says Becker. “I’m thankful I had my mentors to help guide me through the renovation process.”
