President of Wynn Resorts Development, Chris Gordon, explains the site was an abandoned chemical plant, which was leaching chemicals into the channel. Working with state environmental agencies, the brown site was cleaned up and building started. Once an eyesore on the Everett landscape is now a luxury resort and casino with 5-star dining, a nightclub, spa, and harbor walk with over 1,000 mature trees. The resort, which can be likened to a more fanciful OZ, is a playground for those seeking the best out of a luxury resort experience.
