Local Couples Launch North Andover Art Studio with a ‘Twist’

The Dellovos and Forestas have opened Painting with a Twist, a unique art & social studio.

Aspiring to bring a new creative outlet to Merrimack Valley, Painting with a Twist opened March 23, 2017 in North Andover. It’s a place where friends come together to paint, bring a beverage of their choice and uncork their inner artist. Painting with a Twist of North Andover is located at 10 High Street in East Mill North Andover.

Painting with a Twist of North Andover is part of the nation’s original and largest paint-and-sip franchise that provides guests a unique “getaway” through art. A Painting with a Twist class includes grabbing friends, painting and the option to BYOB. Led by local artists, guests paint on bare 16” x 20” canvases using paint and brushes provided by the studio. There are more than 8,000 original pieces of copyrighted artwork, ranging from landscapes, abstracts and cityscapes, to creative renderings of animals, iconic buildings and florals.

The North Andover studio is owned by local couples, Danielle (Dee) and Dave Dellovo and Sherri and Michael Foresta. Danielle and Michael are siblings, and the couples were looking for a business opportunity to invest in together. They attended a paint-and-sip class, which led them to research franchise opportunities in the paint-and-sip space. After discovering Painting with a Twist, they fell in love with the brand and concept and knew they wanted to bring it to the area.

“We’re thrilled to open our Painting with a Twist studio in North Andover and can’t wait to provide our guests with a fun night out and chance to escape from the stresses of daily life,” said Sherri. “We love the concept because it’s fun and social, and it brings people together to create memorable pieces of artwork. We’re also excited to give back to the community through our Painting with a Purpose events,” added Dee.

Although the concept of paint-and-sip has been around for years, Painting with a Twist founders Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney have perfected it into a successful business formula. As the art and wine trend continues to pick up steam, Painting with a Twist, the pioneer in the paint-and-sip segment, has both guests and franchisees alike lining up at the doors.

In keeping with the founders’ fundraising roots, Painting with a Twist of North Andover is passionate about supporting the local community. With the Painting with a Purpose program, Painting with a Twist of North Andover will donate 50 percent of profits from Painting with a Purpose events to local organizations and charities each month.

In addition to supporting the local community, Painting with a Twist of North Andover offers private parties for corporate outings, bachelorette parties, sorority functions, date nights and special events. The studio is able to accommodate up to 62 people per gathering with one large room that can hold 44 and a private room that seats 18 – making painting accessible for a few friends or a private party. Plus, Painting with a Twist of North Andover offers kid parties any day or evening of the week. They’re perfect for a child’s birthday, Scout troop, sports team or dance class. Kid paint parties are recommended for children ages 7 and up.

Painting with a Twist of North Andover is open during scheduled class times and holds office hours Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The studio can be reached at (978) 258-4204.
