Cape Ann Museum Holds Reading of Frederick Douglass June 26
As part of Mass Humanities’ statewide initiative, the Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester will hold a public reading of the famed abolitionist’s 1852 speech.
On Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m., the Cape Ann Museum will participate in a statewide initiative coordinated by Mass Humanities to do a public reading of Frederick Douglass’s 1852 speech “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”
Reading Frederick Douglass Together is presented by the Cape Ann Museum in partnership with the Cape Ann Slavery and Abolition Trust, collaboration of the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church and the Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport.
