2023 Tourist Attraction

Editors’ Choice

Crane Estate, Ipswich

The Crane Estate in Ipswich remains a North Shore staple for a reason, drawing locals and tourists alike to check out its historic 1920s mansion, manicured gardens, and sprawling Grand Allee where you can find events like live music and cocktail parties all summer long. The 2,100-acre property also includes the white sand Crane Beach and the Crane Wildlife Refuge, a stretch of salt marsh and islands through which visitors can hike or paddle. 290 Argilla Rd., Ipswich, 978-356-4351, thetrustees.org/the-crane-estate

Readers’ Choice

Cider Hill Farm, Amesbury

A robust schedule of family-friendly programming makes Cider Hill Farm one of the top must-visit destinations north of Boston. The family-run farm is known for its apple picking and on-site hard cider making (there’s an outdoor hard cider bar every weekend!), but it celebrates other seasons, too, with festivals like the Tulip Fest in May and the Blueberry Fest in late July. You’ll also find a farm stand and regularly scheduled live music, and the farm follows environmentally responsible practices throughout its solar- and wind-powered property. 45 Fern Ave., Amesbury, 978-388-5525, ciderhill.com
