Afternoon tea in the age of the craft cocktail is an idea that is already taking off in the craft bar scene, and vodka cocktails incorporating tea are gaining popularity in home entertaining as well. Tenure England Vodka has a very crisp, refreshing taste that is perfect for incorporating into a proper cocktail. This vodka is made in the classic European style which preserves the original character of the fine grain and delivers a remarkably smooth drinking experience. Maintaining highest standards for distillation and hailing from a distillery established in England more than 250 years ago, Tenure is perfectly suited for artisanal tea cocktails, and mixologists are already answering that call with variations of “Tenure Tea” signature drinks. There are a number of ways to create a Tenure Tea cocktail. It can be made using a strong brew tea, or a tea syrup, it can be made hot or cold, or even caffeinated or herbal. These tea cocktails are simple to make and can be crafted at home using just two or three ingredients, including Tenure Vodka. Entertain house guests this spring by serving Tenure Tea served in a teacup along with a selection of sweet treats. For some inspiration, try out the following: Make a “Time for Tenure Tea” cocktail using 1.5 parts Tenure England Vodka, .5 part honey syrup (honey and water 1:1) and 2 oz. of unsweetened black tea. Shake over ice, strain into a martini glass and top with a dash of orange bitters, a lemon twist, and an optional mint leaf (smack it first). Create “The Preston Tenure Tea” using 1.5 parts Tenure England Vodka, 4 parts hot earl grey tea, 1-part cream and 2 teaspoons of sugar. Try a “Lavender Tenure Tea Lemondrop” using 1.5 parts Tenure England Vodka, .5 part fresh lemon juice and .5 part lavender simple syrup. Shake vigorously over ice, strain into a chilled martini glass with fresh lavender and a lemon curl. Create the lavender simple syrup using 2 cups of simple syrup (sugar and water 1:1), 1 tbsp. fresh lemon, 3 tbsp. dried lavender. Bring all ingredients to a boil, lower heat and simmer for five minutes, let cool while the lavender steeps in syrup, strain. “The artisanal tea cocktail is a trend that is really taking off among bartenders looking to incorporate a refined spirit into an innovative and unique new cocktail,” Tracey Clapp, vodka marketing director, says. “The idea is simple yet offers patrons a sophisticated adult beverage that is familiar yet refreshingly new.” Tenure England Vodka is receiving high acclaim, having recently been awarded 93 points by The Tasting Panel Magazine’s Anthony Dias Blue who described the vodka as “smooth and mellow with dry, neutral flavors” and as being “elegant and soft with a lush, velvety texture; fresh and long.” Only the finest non-GMO grains from England are selected by Tenure’s master distiller for each batch of vodka.
