Being that wedding season is coming into full bloom, we decided to stop in at Cristina’s Bridal in Andover to ask about the latest trends that every bride should know about while planning the big day.

This year’s trends are fun, flirty, unique, and a bit spontaneous.

Colored dresses are in this season; many brides are stepping away from the traditional all-white look. A lot of the dresses we are seeing are tinted with subtle hints of pastel pinks and blues or embellished with underlying purple and gray tones. This look brings something new to the wedding experience, allowing brides to show off their unique feminine style with a touch of soft pigment.

The classic shapes and silhouettes of dresses that we all know and love have pretty much stayed the same, but this year, designers like Hayley Paige have been adding unique twists to traditional dress designs that brides everywhere are falling in love with.

One thing that makes Hayley Paige’s gowns so unique is the different elements that she includes within her designs. These dresses are far from plain and boring; most contain multiple textures and fabrics within the same dress, adding a striking and distinctive flair to the look. A beautifully detailed open-back is a feature that has been appearing on some of the most sought out dresses this season. With a Hayley Paige gown, you are sure to emulate femininity and grace on your big day, while keeping up a hint of edginess and charm that will make your walk down the aisle a truly unforgettable moment.

In some cases, wedding veils are passed down from mother to daughter, and are typically thought of as sentimental items that are not necessarily an essential part of the bridal ensemble, fashion-wise. This year, brides are embracing the veil as a tool to complete their wedding day look. Whether you decide to keep it short and sweet with a shoulder or elbow length veil, or go all out with a cathedral length, choosing a veil that compliments and accentuates your dress is a move that will make all the difference on your big day.

Another trend that has been popular lately is bridal body suites. These types of dresses consist of two parts: a customized bodice and a detachable skirt that can be changed. This fun, mix and match style option allows brides to switch it up and wear two different dresses for the ceremony and the reception. This look is perfect for a bride who wants to feel comfortable and confident, and get down on the dance floor. If you are ready to party, this might just be the perfect type of gown for you.

For the Bridesmaids:

There are a couple of trends for the brides’ closest circles of friends. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses are becoming extremely popular. With this trend, it seems we are finally ready to admit that the same dress does not always look good on everyone. Say goodbye to bridesmaid dress stress—nowadays many brides are choosing to have their bridesmaids wear dresses varying in length, style, material, and even color! This look seems scary, but if executed well, it can make for some jaw-dropping photos and some very happy bridesmaids.

Another trend that is nontraditional—dresses that are  cream or ivory colored for bridesmaids. Typically, the bride is supposed to be the only one in the room wearing white. However, many brides have been choosing to have their alter-squads sport light, off-white colors, which look beautiful in outdoor venues surrounded by colorful flowers and rustic, chic decorations.
