If you are still looking for some quality musical events for this fall, look no further than Rockport. The Shalin Liu Performance Center has a few great events planned this season.

Patty Larkin & Liz Longley

October 15, 5 p.m.

A double folk-themed feature with the beloved veteran singer and songwriter Patty Larkin and the generation-spanning “tunesmith” Liz Longley. Larkin has been playing for 30 years and plans to continue to entrance audiences with her singing and guitar work. Longley has released two albums on the Sugar Hill label, including Weightless, named one of 2016’s Best Records of the Year by the Huffington Post.

Mary Chapin Carpenter

October 28, 8 p.m.; October 29, 5 p.m.

Five time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, Mary Chapin Carpenter, returns to Rockport for the release of her most recent record, The Things That We Are Made Of. Carpenter’s album has 11 songs written by herself and has received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and NPR, among others.

Session Americana & Lonely Heartstring Band

November 3, 7 p.m.

Two of New England’s most celebrated bands team up to give you a truly amazing show of great folk music. Both bands will perform a separate set each before they join together for “an exciting hootenanny collaboration.”

Lee Ann Womack

November 10, 8 p.m.

Lee Ann Womack makes her Rockport debut with a brand new record, The Lonely, the Lonesome and the Gone, a back-to-basics Americana. This Grammy-winning country singer has been going back to her Texas “honky-tonky” roots with her latest records. After her show, Womack will have a VIP Meet and Greet, which you must buy a ticket to the show to attend.

Quinn Sullivan

November 11, 8 p.m.

Protégé of the legendary Buddy Guy, Guinn Sullivan might only be 18 years old but his blues rock music is truly great. He has already shared the stage with musicians like Los Lobos, Eric Clapton, and a few others.  “Sullivan plays guitar like a man well beyond his years.”

Rosanne Cash

November 16, 8 p.m.

Coming to Rockport for her much anticipated debut, Rosanne Cash plans to give you a country show you won’t forget. Having an astounding 40-year music career and fresh off her Grammy-winning album The River and the Thread, Cash hopes to impress Rockport in November.

Justin Townes Earle

November 18, 8 p.m.

Justin Townes Earle has only launched his recording career a decade ago, yet he has established himself as a central person in the Americana community. Earle’s particular brand of Americana is tough gritty songwriting paired with indelible melodies and vintage old school instrumentation. Earle will be supported by emerging singer-songwriter and fiddler Joshua Hedley.
