The Trustees of Reservations has announced the launch of Fresh Air Tunes—a summer concert series at the Crane Beach parking lot for three Sundays during the month of August.

“With live concerts as we’ve always known them not feasible right now due to COVID, we’re thrilled we can repurpose one of our signature properties to allow people to listen to live music in a safe way,” says Trustees Director of Signature Events Michael Rodriguez. “With 120 special places in outdoor settings across the Commonwealth, The Trustees is thinking outside the box to make some of our favorite experiences possible again.”

The concerts will take place on Sunday nights, with shows on August 16, 23, and 30. Shows will be held in moderately inclement weather but extreme weather conditions like lightning will be cause for cancellation, which will be announced on social media.

Gates open at 7:30 p.m. with the shows beginning at 8:00 p.m., and folks are invited to either remain in their cars or set up chairs just outside their vehicle to watch the show.

The musical acts cover The Rolling Stones, reggae acts, and Journey, respectively. The cost is $40 per car for Trustees Members and $50 per car for nonmembers. Tickets are on sale now to the general public in advance of the first show on Aug. 16 and can be purchased online at facebook.com/events/575808419766881/. Nonmembers will also have an opportunity to simultaneously purchase Trustees memberships ($70) at checkout.

The concert schedule is:

  • Aug. 16: The Classic Stones Live: Featuring the Glimmer Twins
  • Aug. 23: Soul Rebel Project (reggae)
  • Aug. 30: The Great Escape—A Tribute to Journey

Bathrooms will be open and visitors can buy concessions at the Fireside Snack Shack. All visitors older than two will be required to wear masks when outside their cars and must practice social distancing by keeping a minimum of six feet away from other parties.

Visitors must show proof of purchase via a printed ticket or on a smartphone and vehicles without proof of purchase will not be allowed to enter.
