Ceramic artist Anna Kasabian will be the Artist in Residence for the month of April in an exhibit titled Visions of Cape Ann at the Jane Deering Gallery, 19 Pleasant Street, Gloucester. The opening reception will be Saturday, April 7, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the public is invited. Anna’s all white sea and floral themed sculptures will be on view and for sale.

The Manchester-by-the-Sea resident hand forms wall and tabletop sculptures in porcelain. Her work is in private and public collections in the U.S. and San Juan including the iconic London House Hotel and the Dana Hotel, both in Chicago; the AC Marriott in San Juan and The Talisa Hotel, Vail. Designers from Chicago to Hollywood have worked with Anna on special commissions.

Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Veranda, and Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, as well as local press have featured her work.

Architectural Digest described her work as “the epitome of nature-inspired elegance.”

Just this week (March 19) Anna was among a select group of artists chosen by Saatchi Art for inclusion in the Nobu Contemporaries Collection, “highlighting exceptional emerging artists from around the world whose works embody the unique chemistry and perfect balance that define the Nobu experience: sensuous luxury, fine artistry, and surprising details.” The collection was curated by Saatchi chief curator Rebecca Wilson and Nobu Hotel Shoreditch resident artist, Sichi.
